Here at Waterer Dental Care we are able to offer 3D CBCT scans in house at our practice in Leek.
A CBCT dental scan is a 3D image showing the teeth, gums, nerve pathways and bones. The scans are generally used when planning dental implant surgery but can also be helpful for other dental procedures.
Traditionally we have been required to refer patients to other practices or hospitals for this meaning there have been longer waiting times and distances for patients to travel making it an inconvenience. Since 2026 all of our registered patients have access to this treatment in our practice in Leek.
The scanner is also able to take more traditional orthopantomogram images which are a full mouth image of the patients upper and lower teeth. These are generally required when considering orthodontic treatment for a patient and locating unerupted teeth.
